A Good Internal Tool Respects the Workflow, Not Just the Data
Internal tools become valuable when they reflect how work actually moves, not just what the database stores.

Many internal tools are built as if exposing the data is enough. Usually it is not.
People do not use internal products to admire data models. They use them to complete a sequence of decisions. That means the system has to respect timing, ownership, state changes and the points where uncertainty tends to appear.
The best internal tools I have worked on were not the most visually ambitious. They were the ones that made the next useful action obvious.
